nubia has launched a new budget-friendly phone, the Mavericks 5G, boasting a unique camera-inspired design and some impressive features for the price.
The Mavericks 5G features a large, circular camera bump on the back, reminiscent of a traditional camera.
Display and Performance:
The phone comes equipped with a large 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a responsive 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, it runs on the Unisoc T760 processor with user options for 6GB, 8GB, or even 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance. Storage remains a generous 256GB across all variants.
Power Up and Capture Memories:
The Mavericks 5G packs a massive 5,000mAh battery, ideal for all-day use. While the fast charging speed is limited to 10W, the large battery capacity should compensate somewhat. The camera system features a powerful 108MP main sensor assisted by an AI depth shooter, powered by nubia’s Neovision AI imaging system. On the front, a 5MP selfie camera tackles video calls and selfies.
5G Connectivity and Software:
As its name suggests, the Mavericks 5G supports 5G connectivity for speedy downloads and uploads. The phone runs on Android with nubia’s MyOS skin on top, although the specific Android version remains unknown at this time.
Pricing and Availability:
The nubia Mavericks 5G is currently only available in China, starting at CNY 799 (~₱6,237.19) for the 6GB/256GB variant. Prices go up to CNY 1,199 (~₱9,359.69) for the top-of-the-line 12GB/256GB model. We’ll have to wait for further announcements regarding global availability.
