After stepping down from the CEO position, Dennis Uy remains in his role as the chairman of DITO Telecommunity (DITO Tel).
In an announcement, DITO CME Holdings Corp, the information and communications technology (ICT) arm of the Udenna Group, revealed the transition of Ernesto Alberto from DITO CME president to the chief executive officer of its subsidiary, DITO Telecommunity. Ernesto Alberto took over from Dennis Uy, who retains his position as chairman of DITO Tel.
Dennis Uy expressed confidence in Eric’s appointment as DITO Tel CEO, emphasizing his extensive experience in the banking and telecoms sectors spanning many years. This transition aligns with the company’s goal of maintaining a strong growth trajectory.
Additionally, DITO CME Chief Operating Officer Donald Patrick Lim has temporarily assumed the role of DITO CME president.
DITO Tel recently secured a USD 3.9 billion long-term loan to replace its short-term loan facilities, settle outstanding contractor payments, and finance ongoing network expansion projects.
Uy expressed increased confidence in DITO CME and DITO Tel’s ability to achieve their business plan targets, thanks to recent equity infusions at the DITO CME level and the signing of the USD 3.9 billion long-term project finance facility by DITO Tel.
