Exynos 2500 CPU could beat Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in power efficiency

This year, the expected winning chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. But Samsung has a strong contender in the works.

It’s the Exynos 2500, a 3nm process chipset, exclusively designed for Samsung devices. According to a tipster, the Exynos 2500 will be more efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2400, the Exynos 2500 will deliver higher performance but consumes less power. The predecessor is a milestone for Samsung as it rewrites the image of Exynos chipsets. But us getting an even better Exynos is something to look forward to.

For the specs, the Exynos 2500 is rumored to have two variants: Exynos 2500-A and Exynos 2500-B. The former only has eight cores while the latter has a staggering 10 cores. Resurgence of deca-core CPUs?

The deal breaker is that power efficiency appears better on this Exynos flagship. One user who replied to the original thread claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is suffering from high temperatures. Also, the chipset requires a large cooling system and is quite a power drainer.

Interestingly, the Exynos 2500 is reportedly using Tensor Processing Units from Google Tensor SoC, instead of Neutral Processing Units that powered its predecessor. The graphics, meanwhile, will be handled by the Xclipse 950 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series will definitely get the Exynos 2500, while the US version is expected with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Take these rumors with a grain of salt though.
