You’re getting one of the best Pixel perks on your Android phone or iPhone this year!
Those who love taking photos on their smartphones usually want editing tools and that’s probably because of retouching.
If you don’t know, Google Photos on Pixel phones works differently because of its Magic Editor, powered by AI. Pixel users have built-in retouching tools to fix photo issues.
But this perk will soon become a part of many other devices as Google scheduled the expanded support. Android and iPhone users can start enjoying AI capabilities, like Magic Erase, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light, on May 15.
- Magic Eraser: Got photobombed? Remove them and other distractions from your photos.
- Photo Unblur: Critical moments got blurred? Fix them with Photo Unblur.
- Portrait Light: Bad lighting? Maybe you can adjust the brightness and its position with Portrait Light.
These features will be available on all users of Google Photos, regardless of their device. Plus, no need to subscribe to get those amazing AI retouches.
As part of this expansion, Google will give all Google Photos users, Android and iOS, 10 Magic Editor saves per month. If they want more, they must use a Pixel device or get the Premium Google One plan of 2TB or higher.
The AI tools will arrive on supported devices gradually. That said, you device must meet the following requirements:
- Chromebook Plus: ChromeOS version 118+ with at least 3GB RAM
- Android 8.0 or higher
- iOS 15 or higher
