HMD’s first phone is coming out soon. While the aim is good, the interim seems a bit dull.
Let’s start with the specs. The HMD Pulse Pro is an entry-level with 6.56-inch display screen and a resolution of 720p. It’s powered by Unisoc T606, 6GB RAM, and 128GB onboard storage.
For the optics, the smartphone features a dual-rear camera system led by the 50MP main sensor, which is paired by a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 50MP sensor.
It’s also equipped with a 5,000mAh battery unit and 3.5mm headphone jack. An IP52 rating gives it a degree of protection against dust and water splashes.
The leaked renders of the HMD Pulse Pro showed the two rear cameras housed in a rectangular module alongside the LED flash. The display, on the other hand, is observed with large bezels, particularly the chin.
Although unconfirmed, the flat-looking power key below the volume rockers at the right side may have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. But the design isn’t exactly unique when compared to some Nokia units.
The renders suggested some similarities with the Nokia C32, which also has a rectangular camera module and large bezels. The obvious difference is the punch hole cutout on HMD Pulse Pro, whereas the C32 has the teardrop cutout.
Anyway, the HMD Pulse Pro is likely launching in July with an estimated price of INR 15,900 or ₱10,863.58.
