HUAWEI nova 12 smartphones are launched in China. The Ultra model focuses on selfie lovers with its dual front-facing cameras.
HUAWEI is ending 2023 with a bang by launching the latest nova series with four models.
HUAWEI nova 12 Ultra
The HUAWEI nova 12 Ultra features a 6.76-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution or 2,776 x 1,224 pixels. The screen also has 1B colors and P3 wide color gamut, and is protected by the Kunlun glass.
The real deal is the four camera lens – two at the back and two at the front. The rear cameras are housed by an elliptical module, along with the flash and a laser focus sensor. The main camera sports a 50 MP sensor and physical variable aperture of f/1.4 to 4.0, while the ultrawide sensor has 8 MP and supports an FOV of 112 degrees.
Meanwhile, the selfie camera unit is spearheaded by the 64 MP main sensor with autofocus and FOV of 100 degrees. It’s accompanied by an 8 MP sensor for portraits.
HUAWEI nova 12 Pro
The HUAWEI nova 12 Pro is slightly different from the Ultra model. While it does have the same cameras, this model only features a lower base storage and no 1 TB configuration.
It also weighs more at 201 versus the 198 grams of the Ultra. Plus, there’s no faux leather version.
HUAWEI nova 12
The HUAWEI nova 12 comes with a 6.7-in OLED display that sports 1080p display and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen features a fingerprint sensor, like the previous two, and a punch hole for the selfie camera.
The selfie camera is a 64 MP sensor with an FOV of 100 degrees while the dual-rear cameras are composed of a 50 MP main shooter and 8 MP ultrawide lens.
HUAWEI nova 12 Lite
The HUAWEI nova 12 Lite is the least powerful but still comes with a 50 MP primary rear camera. Though it lacks the RYYB color filter unlike its brothers.
Despite that, the Lite model has a slimmer profile than nova 12 in exchange for a smaller battery unit and slower charging rate. That’s 168 vs. 191 grams, 4500 vs. 4600 mAh, and 66 vs. 100 watts in comparison.

The HUAWEI nova 12 series has been launched in China with pre-booking starting next year. The launch in the other territories is not yet confirmed.
