HUAWEI Pura 70 series launched: Kirin 9010, 65W wired, 50W wireless, industry leading camera

HUAWEI has recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Pura 70 series.

This marks a significant shift, as the highly anticipated series replaces the company’s well-established P series branding. The Pura 70 series arrives with four distinct models: the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+, and Pura 70 Ultra.

Design: A Bold New Identity

HUAWEI Pura 70 design

The Pura 70 series introduces a fresh design language that sets it apart from the competition. The defining characteristic is the unique, triangular rear camera module. The standard Pura 70 boasts a flat design, while the Pro model incorporates subtle curved edges for a more ergonomic feel.

Both phones offer a variety of color options to suit individual preferences. Despite the size difference (6.6-inch for Pura 70 and 6.8-inch for Pro), both models utilize premium OLED displays with exceptional features. These displays boast a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience. Additionally, HUAWEI has equipped the series with the second-generation Kunlun Glass for enhanced durability.

Camera: Building on a Legacy of Excellence

HUAWEI’s P series garnered widespread praise for its industry-leading camera capabilities, and the Pura 70 series promises to uphold that tradition. The standard Pura 70 features a triple-camera rear system comprising a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens for impressive zoom capabilities.

Meanwhile, the Pura 70 Pro and Pro+ elevate the camera experience further with a 50MP primary sensor, 12.5MP ultrawide lens, and a powerful 48MP macro telephoto lens. All models within the Pura 70 lineup benefit from HUAWEI’s XMAGE image processing system, ensuring exceptional image quality. Notably, all cameras offer a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, allowing for greater control over image capture in various lighting conditions.

Performance and Battery: Powering Through Your Day

The Pura 70 series is equipped with HUAWEI’s Kirin 9010 chipset, paired with the Maleoon 910 GPU, delivering robust performance for everyday tasks and demanding applications. Battery life is equally impressive. The standard Pura 70 packs a 4900mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Pro models boast a slightly larger 5050mAh battery and offer even faster charging speeds: 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Pricing and Availability

The Pura 70 series caters to a range of budgets. The standard Pura 70 starts at 5,499 yuan (~₱43,438.04), while the Pura 70 Pro carries a starting price of 6499 yuan (~₱51,337.30).
