Released in Q2 2023, Infinix NOTE 30 VIP and TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G turned heads with their dashing appearance and superb performance. But which one is better?
You probably got interested when you’ve met Infinix NOTE 30 VIP and TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G. Confused by the utter similarities? Here, we’ll show you the key categories where you can spot the contrast between these two.
So, take note and assess which factor makes a lasting impression.
Display
Infinix NOTE 30 VIP and TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G have very similar display screens and spotting the difference is quite difficult.
Display Specifications | Infinix NOTE 30 VIP | TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G |
Size (inch) | 6.67 | 6.67 |
Type | AMOLED | AMOLED |
Resolution | 1080 x 2400 | 1080 x 2400 |
Refresh rate | 120Hz | 120Hz |
Screen-to-body ratio | 87% | 87% |
The two smartphones are basically the same and if you get your hands on their out-of-box jelly cases, you’ll discover that they fit each other. That suggests both phones have similar chassis, which isn’t a surprise because the two brands operate under the same company – Transsion.
Even the dimensions are nearly the same, 162.7 x 75.9 mm (height x width), except for depth where Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has 8.2mm while TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G has 7.8mm. This gives the latter a slightly thinner look.
The winner, however, is Infinix NOTE 30 VIP because of its peak brightness of 900nits. Not as high as some others but it definitely topples 500nits of TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G.
Performance
Usually, the chipset is a key difference between two similar phones. However, Infinix and TECNO defied this too and we’re not sure what’s the real reason behind it.
Performance Specs | Infinix NOTE 30 VIP | TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G |
Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 8050 | MediaTek Dimensity 8050 |
Graphics | Mali-G77 | Mali-G77 |
RAM | 8GB | 8GB |
Storage | 256GB | 256GB |
Those who already own Infinix NOTE 30 VIP probably noticed something unlisted on the table. That’s the 12GB/256GB variant of the smartphone, which is not available for TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G. This round goes to the Infinix phone.
In the second round, TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G redeems itself with its larger vapor cooling chamber of 5,512 square-meter. Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has one too, albeit 2,890 square-meter, which may explain why its CPU throttles quicker. So, this round goes to the TECNO phone.
Camera
On paper, Infinix NOTE 30 VIP should win the camera race with its triple-rear setup of 108MP + 2MP + 2MP, compared to the 64MP + 2MP + 2MP on TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G.
Although these phones are sometimes hit or miss, TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G boasts an optical image stabilization, smacking the digital image stabilization on Infinix NOTE 30 VIP. It means the latter requires a gimbal when shooting on the move.
This simple difference is a score for TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G.
Battery
Both Infinix NOTE 30 VIP and TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G have massive battery packs, probably lasting more than a day on casual use.
TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G comes with a 5000mAh battery and up to 33w fast-charging support. There’s also an AI Smart Charge feature to help extend battery life.
Infinix NOTE 30 VIP, on the other hand, is loaded with battery quirks. It also has a 5000mAh battery but this one supports up to 68w wired and 50w wireless fast charging. It features an Intelligent Power E-IQ as well for overnight charging.
Besides charging speedily, Infinix NOTE 30 VIP can charge up other phones via reverse charging. Even iPhones can get power from this Android phone. Its charger even has PD 3.0 agreement so other phones with PD 3.0 can take advantage of its fast-charging feature.
Infinix NOTE 30 VIP seems like a universal power pod for other phones that need charging. So, this is the victor of the round.
Game Exclusives
Since both phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8050, they are expected to run most games without a hitch. They also support 360Hz touch sampling rate for faster touch input response; good for shooting games.
They even have bypass charging for nonstop gaming while protecting the battery. But Infinix NOTE 30 VIP gets that feature out-of-the-box while TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G gets it via update.
Here are the gaming extras for mobile gamers:

Which Phone Suits You Better?
Both Infinix NOTE 30 VIP and TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G are great choices for the mid-range tier. Their chipset can still perform well on many games, including some mainstream titles. All-day battery performance isn’t a problem for these two.
If you’re into head-turning style, Infinix NOTE 30 VIP is perhaps the better choice. It’s difficult to deny its fashionable colors and trendy design. The phone is also IP53 rated for dust protection and water spray resistance.
If you’re into a minimalistic design, TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G is likely your bet. The crystal-like pattern is unique but won’t catch too much attention; just for those with a keen eye. Beneath that tone-downed appearance is a versatile phone for all scenarios.
Infinix NOTE 30 VIP is currently priced at ₱13,999 while the TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G is at ₱12,999. Expect these two to get regular price cuts from time to time. Check out our full specs for both phones below.
