It is the Indian variant of the Infinix SMART 8. Just a few minor tweaks, but the Infinix SMART 8 Pro will be one of Infinix’s best entry-level smartphones.
The Infinix SMART 8 was launched last year in select markets like the Philippines but the one launched in India a couple of weeks ago came with the Helio G36 SoC, 50MP camera, and XOS 13 based on Android 13 Go. Now, the brand has announced the SMART 8 Pro, which isn’t a new smartphone but the Indian SMART 8.
With that in mind, the Infinix SMART 8 Pro is equipped with the Helio G36 SoC, a 6.6″ 90Hz HD+ LCD with Dynamic Island-like Magic Ring, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging. The smartphone also runs Android 13 Go-based XOS 13, which will improve its efficiency, for its processor is on the weaker side.
The Infinix SMART 8 Pro has two RAM (4GB/8GB) and storage (64GB/128GB) options with support for storage expansion via a microSD card. It also sports three cameras – 8MP selfie and 50MP primary, joined by what Infinix calls an “AI Lens.”
The rest of the Infinix SMART 8 Pro’s highlights include USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and DTS sound processing with a 200% Super Volume boost.
The Infinix SMART 8 Pro is offered in Timber Black, Shiny Gold, Galaxy White, and Rainbow Blue colors. Infinix is yet to reveal its pricing and availability, but information should be released soon.
