While not much different from other Android phones in terms of hardware, Nothing’s smartphones have a distinctive translucent exterior covered with LED lights. It could cease to be distinctive in the near future because Infinix is allegedly developing a new smartphone that may resemble the previously introduced Phone (2)
The phone may be released with GT series branding next month
Infinix is reportedly working on a new smartphone that looks similar to the Nothing Phone (2). The phone is said to be part of a new GT-branded lineup and will be priced “much less” than the Nothing phone.
The render of the alleged handset shows markings that look similar to the Glyph Interface on Nothing phones. This interface uses LED lights to display notifications, battery status, and other information.
Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, has responded to the news by saying that he is readying up his lawyers. It is possible that Pei was joking, but it is also possible that he is serious about taking legal action.
Whether or not Infinix is actually copying the Nothing Phone (2) remains to be seen. However, if the phone does look too similar to the Nothing phone, Infinix could face legal challenges.
