The base model of the newest iPhone 14 is great and all but the upgrades are almost little to none when it comes to its internals and specs. It does have some improvements when it comes to the camera department.
iPhone 14 Design
The design is the exact copy of its previous iteration, it even has the same notch as the previous iPhone 13 and the same weight and dimensions. We are not sure why Apple decided to copy the older version of their new product but the mini is not available anymore. The newer iPhone 14 Plus is the newer size of this model.
The new iPhone 14 also has 12MP Cameras But…
At first glance it looks like the iPhone 14 still has the same Dual 12MP Camera setup at the back but that’s where the similarities end. The iPhone 14 has a larger sensor(1.9µm) than the one on the iPhone 13(1.7µm) with a much faster f/1.5 aperture compared to the 13’s f/1.6. The larger sensor for the rear camera helps for lowlight photography and the selfie camera has the new Autofocus technology.
The selfie camera also has some improvements on its 12MP camera as apple provides a much better sensor(1.9µm) for the selfie camera with a much faster f/1.9 aperture compared to the 13’s f/2.2. It even has the newer autofocus feature!
Were also getting the brand new on the new iPhones. The Action mode is pretty much the EIS or extra stabilization mode that will give your videos a much more stable look. The Action mode will crop in a bit as stabilization is applied.

On paper the iPhone 14 base model is just a copy of the previous iPhone 13 making it better to buy the older iPhone 13 if prices drop. It is much better to get the iPhone 14 Pro models if you want to upgrade your new iPhone. Check the full specs here!
