A couple in India sold their 8-month-old baby for an iPhone 14 so they could create content for Instagram
According to a local media report, the police said the Indian pair’s child suddenly went missing one weekend but they did not bother to alert them and look for their infant, who’s just around eight months old.
Their neighbors got suspicious when they saw the parents traveling and shooting IG reels using a brand-new Apple product. When asked where their newborn was, the two admitted to selling their child. After the shocking revelation, local residents immediately reported it to authorities.
“After interrogation, the mother admitted to the crime and informed that she and her husband wanted to use the money to take trips across the state so that they could create content for Instagram reels,” a senior official from the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate said.
The mother has been arrested, while the father is still on the run while the infant has been rescued from a woman in Khardah.
