The next iPhone SE will have a new look and some extras for those wanting a more affordable iPhone.
The iPhone SE series has been developed as an affordable offer for iPhone lovers on-a-budget. There are three commercial iPhone SEs launched thus far, with the OG released in 2016 and the latest in 2022.
After seven years, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 is getting a major overhaul to give it a new look. A report revealed that iPhone SE 4 will continue the iPhone budget line but feature an iPhone 14 style, departing from iPhone 8.
If that happens, then the phone’s dimension would be 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 millimeters, definitely larger than iPhone SE 3’s dimension of 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm. However, iPhone SE 4 is expected to weigh less than the iPhone 14 with 165 g.
The reason is the single-rear camera setup on iPhone SE 4. It’s also reported to have a custom backplate to accommodate the different design. Don’t be shocked about the single-rear camera since the budget line has always been like that.
If you’re thinking of titanium, tough luck. No other changes are expected in iPhone SE 4 as it may get the same aluminum found in iPhone 14.
If you’re planning to upgrade from iPhone SE 3, you want to consider the fourth generation because of two new add-ons. The report suggested that iPhone SE 4 comes with the multi-purpose Action button and USB-C port.
No release date as of writing, though the current development status of the budget iPhone hints at a possible 2025 launch.
