OnePlus hits a milestone in mobile battery tech. While it’s slimmer than Li-Ion and Li-Po, it has more capacity and can support turbo charging.
This month, a new offering from OnePlus is expected to come out. It’s the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro and it features an upgraded battery technology, paving a new age for upcoming OnePlus smartphones.
The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is the debuting flagbearer of the Glacier battery tech – a high-performance battery technology with an impressive design profile. Not only it has an upgraded performance and design, but it also supports rapid charging like many other models today.
Here are the upsides of the Glacier battery tech:
- New structural design: It retains a small profile allowing OnePlus to place it in a tight enclosure.
- Higher capacity: It holds more juice, compared to typical batteries, when placed in such an enclosure.
- Fast-charging support: It can charge up to 100 watts.
According to the tipster Digital Chat Station, the Glacier battery of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is composed of silicon-carbon and holds a max capacity of 6,100 mAh, 1,100 higher than its predecessor.
Although the battery tech has been revealed, the rest of the phone’s specs remains a mystery. Rumors suggest that the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and up to 24 GB of RAM. It’s also expected with a 6.74-inch 1.5K LTPO curved AMOLED screen.
For photography, the phone is likely to have a triple-rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor and 8 MP and 2 MP secondary lenses. The selfie camera is likely a 16 MP sensor.
The 24 GB variant may get a price tag of CNY 4,000 or PHP 32,391.03.
