realme C55 – It’s a Mini Capsule! (Unboxing / First Impression)

realme’s best-selling C-Series is finally back, being trendier than ever with the realme C55!

Let’s dive into the unboxing as we show you what to expect about this new phone from the number one smartphone brand in the Philippines (as of Q4 2022 Canalys)!

Starting from its box design, it’s the same tried and tested formula in most realme boxes. The bright yellow hue guarantees a head-turner as this is designed to be noticeable even from far away without crowding the space with too much information.

The main specs are listed on the back, and the unique IMEI number, bar codes, and some more minimal texts keep the refined look of the box intact.

Opening it, we are welcomed again as a part of the realme family by a similarly colored inner box sleeve containing the sim ejector pin, some paperwork, and the clear case.

The case has some decent flex but not too much– hinting they use more plastic than expected for such a device under its price range. The slight frosting effects also added to its classiness.

Moving on, there’s the device in all of its glory, but before we can go to the main course, let’s deal with the entrees first. Lifting the phone reveals the 33W SUPERVOOC charging brick and Type-C cord that promises to fully charge the realme C55 from 0-100% in 63 minutes.

Like last year’s realme C35, the realme C55 follows the same boxy design language, looking clean and modern simultaneously.

Looking at the sides, the top has nothing to it– but the bottom portion houses the Type-C port, a microphone with noise-canceling abilities, and the classic 3.5mm headphone jack.

The right corner houses the fingerprint scanner, which is responsive and snappy. The power/fingerprint button and the volume rockers are the same color as the back, creating a seamless unison of flowing paint, which you could only see in today’s flagship phones.

We almost forgot that being aesthetically pleasing shouldn’t sacrifice function and practicality, as the realme C55 included two SIM slots plus a dedicated microSD slot for expandability up to an incredible 1TB.

The back material, while made of plastic, doesn’t feel cheap. We enjoyed holding to it as it is lightweight and not prone to fingerprint smudges.

The camera bump morphs cleanly with the rest of the device; with extensive housing and elegant placement angles, the realme C55 will stand out from the rest of the pack.

If you have small hands, the ultra-slim 7.89mm body makes it easier to grip without compromising the battery capacity, which clocks in at a sizeable 5,000mAh battery.

Moving on to its display, the 6.72-inch 1080p IPS LCD panel looks as sharp and vibrant as ever, producing a great user experience when using the realme C55; its minimal bezels around the screen also help with keeping you immersed while watching your favorite videos or playing your favorite games.

Indoors or outdoors, the realme C55 is never a hassle, as it can reach up to 680 nits maximum, which is bright enough to use anywhere, anytime.

And finally, we should mention its hidden ace under its sleeve: the Mini Capsule. The Mini Capsule transforms your standard punch-hole section into an interactive one by giving you notifications and more.

Currently, the Mini Capsule only works via the charging animation to provide you with charging status and current battery capacity– but realme plans to offer it many valuable functions in future updates.

So this is it, the realme C55. We are so excited to review it thoroughly, so stay tuned. For now, visit the official specs for this device here:
