realme takes 5G-powered smartphones to the budget market segment with the V50 series.
5G connectivity is a premium feature but brands are now bringing it to the masses. realme is among them leading with the V50 series.
There are two models included in this series: the realme V50 and realme V50S. According to a report, the lineup takes inspiration from the aesthetics of realme 11 with its iconic circular camera module.
The realme V50 has a thickness of 7.89 millimeters and weight of 190 g. It comes with a 6.72-inch display with a punch hole cutout, 1080p resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 680 nits. The refresh rate also suggests that some games are playable for up to 120 FPS.
To support 5G and games, both realme V50 and V50S are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, Android 13, and realme UI 4.0.
For camera lovers, the entry-level models have a dual-rear camera setup led by the 13MP primary sensor. There’s another sensor but unspecified, so it’s speculated to be a depth sensor. Selfie lovers and video call users can utilize the single 8MP selfie shooter.
Since these are entry-level phones, both realme V50 and V50S are equipped with a 3.5-mm earphone jack and a microSD card slot. They are powered by a 5000 mAh battery but we don’t if it supports 10 or 18 watts of fast charging.
