Design
The realme narzo 50 shares some design similarities with another gaming phone from realme – the narzo 50A – which might confuse some users, but the narzo 50 stands out with its Speed Blue and Speed Black designs.
The backpanel of the realme narzo 50 is described by the company as a Kevlar Speed texture design. While some of us know that Kevlar is usually a protective textile material, ang inspiration ng Realme for the design is a race car.
Thematically-consistent naman, since gaming phone ang narzo 50, and mukhang tire threading yung pattern sa likod. About sa question if this is a fingerprint magnet or not, it doesn’t appear to be, however, smugdes can get noticed when viewed from certain angles and lighting.
At a weight of only 194g, it’s not too heavy for gaming, and it provides a nice “hand-feel”. The back panel is made of plastic, as well as the frame.
Unlike sa narzo 50A, the realme narzo 50 only gently curves near the edge. This might have been a missed opportunity para kay realme, seeing this is a gaming phone. But holding the device isn’t stressful during long games, kaya the phone still scores well in terms of ergonomics.
On the left side of the phone is the sim tray and the volume rocker, and on the right side is a mounted fingerprint scanner with the power button. The bottom edge of the phone holds the 3.5mm jack, the speaker grill, mic, and the USB-C charging port.
The realme narzo 50 looks slimmer and screen real estate is maximized compared to the narzo 50A. The chin is still there, but the good news is there’s more space at the top, and they’ve introduced a hole-punch camera and moved it to one corner to maximize the viewing space.
Ang final verdict sa design is great. Even at an entry-level pricing, this phone passes the standard for 2022 – karamihan ng phones have side-mounted fingerprints, bigger screens, and slimmer bezels. The realme narzo 50 doesn’t disappoint with the hole-punch camera on the top left.
Display
The realme narzo 50 uses a really wide 6.6 inch FHD display. Okay ‘to for media viewing and playing games. What’s better is that the display has a 120Hz refresh rate, so animations will be smoother.
Gamers will feel a more consistent and fluid gameplay kahit Mobile Legends or Wild Rift pa ang laro. For every day use, the 120Hz is a big difference. Scrolling animations don’t look jittery, and to some extent mas maganda tignan ang UI ng realme narzo 50 than its budget counterpart, the narzo 50A, because of the animations alone.
The realme narzo 50 uses an IPS LCD display, so users may expect a little backlight bleed during dark movie scenes or in games with a lot of deep shadows.
This doesn’t affect the performance at all, and kaya pa naman mag pakitang gilas ng realme narzo 50 with the display resolution at 400 ppi. Siksik ang dpi for an entry-level budget phone, so consumers will get a lot from their purchase.
Since the phone uses a hole-punch camera, it’s not going to be a major distraction during viewing times since itatago ng black border when apps are running. Overall, the design on the realme narzo 50 is great – you get 120Hz, a 1080 by 2400 resolution, and the maximum viewing area thanks to the hole-punch camera.
Performance
When it comes to performance, the phone uses a gaming-optimized chipset that also works great during normal, every-day use. The 4GB RAM provides enough space for multiple apps to open, pero we don’t recommend doing this dahil baka mag overheat. And if it overheats, the Helio G96 chipset will throttle CPU speeds to allow it to cool down.
Meron kasamang bloatware ang realme narzo, but it can be uninstalled easily. As to why meron pa ring bloatware, we will never know, and since this is a gaming phone, it should have less of it. Otherwise, users can just free up RAM space by uninstalling Google apps they don’t use, or 3rd party apps that aren’t useful.
This phone has a massive 5000 mAh battery that comes equipped with a 33W fast charging para makabalik ang gamers sa ranked matches nila. The battery charges to full in just a little over an hour, so you can leave it at lunch and get back to a game ready just as soon as you return.
In terms of whether this phone can handle Genshin Impact, it should be able to run it at lower settings. However, this game will fare well at walang problema pagdating sa mga most popular games like Wild Rift, Mobile Legends, PUBG, and the like.
Gaming
The realme narzo 50 is a budget-friendly phone that has specs built around playing the most popular games like Mobile Legends. This phone, along with its chipset, should be able to use Ultra-High settings. At dahil meron na syang 120Hz refresh rate, the animation will be smoother, game elements and characters will appear brighter, and overall na mas magandang visuals.
Frame drips don’t happen at the start of the game, but if the battery dips below a certain threshold, talagang magkakaroon ng issues sa brightness, fps, and responsiveness. We would recommend playing your favorite mobile games if the battery is above 30%, as the chipset will heavily favor prolonging battery life.
Kung gusto nyo isagad ang performance ng realme narzo 50, the default settings can be overridden, but expect some overheating and frame drops. And say goodbye sa Mythic rank, lol.
The Helio G96 actually allows for higher memory and RAM, but this unit is capped at 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Some phones have managed to bring the RAM up to 8GB but that would only mean a short-lived battery on a phone, so realme probably opted for the 6GB cap.
The Helio G96 also allows for faster charging speeds. The 33W fast charger will bring the phone from zero to 100% in just a little over an hour – enough time para mag lunch – then back to being productive.
Overall, the phone is a good entry-level phone for gaming, and a beautiful phone at that, too.
Camera
The realme narzo 50 uses a triple camera setup: a 50MP main shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Let’s just say that the camera isn’t really the focus here. Talagang gaming specs ang phone so the images captured by the 50MP shooter are just average, at best.
Depending on the lighting though, users of the realme narzo 50 might get some decent shots, especially in daylight. Some of the colors look washed out, but this can easily be solved by lowering the exposure on the camera settings.
Night mode pictures aren’t the best either – shots will look grainy dahil sa increased ISO to compensate for the lack of incoming light.
BUTT, maayos (if not, better) pa rin naman ang selfie capabilities ng realme narzo 50 so it’s a decent phone to use for online classes. It’s not as clear as mid range phone cameras, but you get more features aside from the camera.
The camera array is mounted on a rectangular area that contrasts with the signature Kevlar Speed Texture background on the rear panel, and contains a LED flash to provide more lighting for the subject.
As for video recording, the realme narzo 50 can capture 1080p at a maximum of 120 fps which is not bad for its price. Wala na kaming masasabi sa quality video and camera quality because it’s not the narzo 50’s ace feature.
