AMD graphics on a mobile processor? Sheesh
Samsung is anticipated to soon introduce a new midrange chipset that incorporates AMD graphics. We have now received an initial unofficial glimpse of the System on a Chip (SoC) through a listing on Geekbench. This new chip, known as the Exynos 1480 (S5E8845), is positioned as the successor to the Exynos 1380. It features an eight-core design based on the ARMv8 architecture, comprising four high-performance cores running at 2.75GHz and four power-efficient cores operating at 2.05 GHz.

What makes this chip particularly intriguing is the inclusion of the Xclipse 530 GPU, which utilizes AMD RDNA 2 graphics, much like the flagship Exynos 2200 that powered the European Galaxy S22 series in 2022. There are speculations that the Exynos 1480 will serve as the processor for the upcoming Galaxy A55 and other Galaxy A-series smartphones set for release in 2024.
