Tired of annoying, repetitive, and low-quality newsletters? Unsubscribing made easy by Gmail via a single tap.
Many websites today tend to ask you to subscribe, often letting them send updates and newsletters. While that’s convenient in getting new info about them, it’s troublesome when your email is bombarded by dozens of emails daily; problematic when cleaning your inbox.
However, Gmail is giving you an easier way to unsubscribe to annoying emails. Before the new change, unsubscribing to emails requires you to tap on the three-dot menu located at the top of the emails.
This doesn’t work on some emails though, forcing you to scroll way down to find the unsubscribe button. It’s usually written in small fonts to hinder users from doing it.
Now, a single tap works on these annoying emails. An “unsubscribe” option flashes at the top part of an email just beside the three-dot menu. No need to scroll down or open the menu to choose that option.
But you still need to open your emails individually to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing through the overview of the inbox isn’t yet available as of writing. We also don’t know if Google is planning to introduce such a feature.
There’s a downside as of the moment. The new unsubscribing feature is only available on the iOS version of Gmail, as per report. No ETA yet when this will arrive on the Android version, but it’s expected to be part of the rollout.
If you’re on iOS, check the app and experience yourself the level of convenience brought by the change.
