ChatGPT can now remember your chats but you can always turn it off or even delete memories.
AI tools are so useful today for solving problems and sorting information. But do you desire an AI tool to remember your chats, among others? ChatGPT can!
OpenAI’s chatbot gains a new feature that lets it recall discussions, helpful in future chats. According to OpenAI, some of circumstances where memory is applicable are:
- ChatGPT can remember if you want your meeting notes to have bullets, headlines, and action items at the bottom.
- ChatGPT can aid you in brainstorming messages for a social post in celebrating a new location if you own a neighborhood coffee shop.
- ChatGPT can help you create lesson plans for a specific number of students and lesson duration.
ChatGPT isn’t yet independent on keeping things in memory. You’re still in control and can enable or disable the feature by going to Settings > Personalization > Memory. If disabled, you can’t create or use memories.
In case you want the AI to forget something, you just tell it. Alternatively, you can check and delete specific memories or simply clear them all by going to Settings > Personalization > Manage Memory.
Keep in mind that deleting a chat doesn’t erase the memory. You have to delete the memory itself to completely remove it. Click here for more info.
