Here’s What We Did So Far at the Xiaomi 12 Lite Launch In Malaysia

T’was a busy week for everyone here sa Unbox Diaries, dahil in-invite kami ng Xiaomi sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the launch for its newest smartphone, Xiaomi 12 Lite!

This is about our experience attending the launch yesterday, rather than the phone itself. For the phone review, click this link: Xiaomi 12 Lite: Isang In-Depth Look! – Unbox Diaries

Anyways, here’s the story: weeks ago, Xiaomi sent us two mini travel bags in which contained the following: a bunch of antigen tests, mayroon ding tumblers, smart watches, more accessories, and the Xiaomi 12 Lite siyempre. We were so stoked to be invited at the event because this is something we are all looking forward sa Unbox Diaries: is to be a part of a major event, celebrating a device that’s going to be a game changer for sure.

So we did the usual thing we always do before the flight: prepping. Our clothes, essential, our pam-flexing na pormahan because you gotta look good and comfortable at the same time, lalo na’t we are attending a major event. Then we drove to the airport, waited for our flight at boarded the plane when the time finally came. It’s a breezy 4 hour flight from Manila to Kuala Lumpur, it’s not that long of a flight, parang nagbiyahe lang from our place sa Metro Manila to somewhere in Subic. Wala rin kaming na-experience na turbulence which were nice.

Pagka-landing namin, we took our time to contemplate and let reality sink to our brains that nandito na nga talaga kami sa Malaysia, sa capital pa nila of all places. Medyo bizarre lang ang feeling kasi pagbaba namin sa cockpit up to the airport, parang wala ring masyadong pinagkaiba ang airport sa Malaysia sa Pilipinas…well, except for the flags, the language, and medyo mas modern ang system nila dito. Southeast Asian people, including Malaysians and us Filipinos—ay hindi nalalayo ang hitsura natin sa kanila, that’s why we are so at home at hindi gaanong naninibago sa ambiance at kung may culture shock man, hindi gaano. Both Pinoys and Malaysians (and usually most of Asians) are lovable and laging ka-“vibes” sa mga escapades.

After that siyempre, nagpahinga muna kami for a while, booked a hotel, nagpahinga some more, nagbihis and nag-freshen up, then we marvelled at the sights of the towering buildings, busy city-life at vibrant colors of Kuala Lumpur from our windows. Hindi pa man nagsisimula ang araw namin sa Malaysia, talagang sulit na kaagad ang view.

Of course, the day finally comes na we are attending the Xiaomi 12 Lite launch. ‘Yung mismong venue pa lang, mapapasabi ka na lang na isa itong neon lights heaven! Filled with so much mystique, vibrance, and style–perfect na tema for such a smartphone ‘di ba?

Bukod sa very exclusive ang datingan ng event, filled with foods siyempre, drinks, and feast for the eyes, tignan niyo ang ilan sa mga nakuha naming shots and videos from the event itself:

And there’s K.M. Leong, General Manager of Xiaomi International Southeast Asia division, finally revealing the Xiaomi 12 Lite!

For now, hindi pa tapos ang escapades namin dito sa Malaysia, ang event na ito will last 3 days, so stay tuned for more updates!
