Entry-level POCO C55 with leather-esque finish teased

POCO C50 was released a while ago, and now it’s getting an upgrade, at least through its looks with its leather back finish

The IMG PowerVR GE8320 is still the integrated GPU and operates at a frequency of 680MHz. The MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite, 50MP sensors, Dual 4G VoLTE, and 90Hz refresh rates for displays are also supported by the MTK Helio G36.

Once more, this is anticipated to first hit Indian markets on low-cost smartphones. However, as of right now, no phone manufacturer is said to be using the Helio G36.

In fact, the quick teaser video above actually alludes to how those two things are related to the phone’s back design.

We know this because a well-known leaker posted the image below, which depicts the Poco C55’s faux leather appearance and vertical faux seams running through the middle.

The large black island at the top houses a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that is bordered to the right by a large Poco logo and to the left by a dual camera setup. A circle for the LED flash and another circle that reads “AI” are located between those cameras.

The Poco C55 should succeed the Poco C50, as the model name suggests. But since the C50 was only unveiled last month, it’s impossible. Since it still falls under the entry-level category, we assume it has more features than that device.

It’s possible that the Poco C55 is nothing more than a Redmi 12C model that has been given a different name. The design of the camera island does look suspiciously similar to that of the Redmi 12C.

If so, it will feature a 50 MP rear camera with a 0.08 MP depth sensor next to it, a 5 MP selfie camera, a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W wired charging support, the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, and these other features.

The C55 would therefore have a larger display, a better chipset, more RAM and storage, and a higher-resolution main camera when compared to the Poco C50.
