HTC Wildfire E3 Lite announced with low-powered Unisoc chipset

HTC might be gone, but the ghost of once great smartphone manufacturer is still kicking through licensing

The Wildfire E3 Lite is the most recent entry-level phone to result from HTC’s licensing of its brand to interested makers even though the company no longer produces smartphones.

The E3 Lite has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen and a water drop notch that houses a 5MP front-facing camera.

Brands licensing its name to third party manufacturers to create other stuff is nothing new. Earlier this year, Bullitt Group made S75 and Defy 2 under the CATERPILLAR and Motorola.

A 2MP macro module, an LED flash, and a 13MP main camera are all located on the back. The phone has a Unisoc SC9863 chipset, 3/4GB of RAM, and 32/64GB of expandable storage via a microSD card.

Android 12 handles the software side, and the 5,000mAh battery supports USB-C charging at up to 10W.

The colors for the HTC Wildfire E3 Lite are blue and black. Information on pricing and availability is still pending. The African market will host the phone’s launch.
