vivo and TECNO rollable phones rumored arriving next year

The 2025 meta might be the flexible and rollable display screen on flagship models.

Standing out today is increasingly becoming difficult, and this is what smartphone brands feel.

But some of them may start a new trend late next year.

Rumors suggest that two Chinese smartphone manufacturers want to challenge a South Korean tech giant in novel smartphone design. It’s the battle of the best rollable smartphones in the world.

According to a report, vivo and Transsion are working on their own rollable phone design. The latter aspires for greatness and it shows in a concept video uploaded on YouTube.

The ambitious rollable smartphone is called TECNO Phantom Ultimate. This beauty has a 7.11 inches of On-cell LTPO AMOLED with 2,296 x 1,596 resolution. But there’s nothing more to confirm since it’s just a concept, which you can watch below.

As for vivo, rumors allege that the company may be sourcing flexible display panels from popular tech leaders, including Samsung Display and BOE. But no concepts or samples are seen yet.

If these brands succeed, we may start seeing rollable Android phones by the last quarter of 2024 or by 2025.

But for now, we have to stick with the current meta of foldable smartphones and models with titanium.
