24GB version of ZTE nubia Z50S Pro now live for pre-orders

After three months, ZTE silently upgraded the nubia Z50S Pro with more memory.

In the old days, getting a smartphone with 2GB of memory was massive. Now, 4GB is inferior and 6GB is average. The current standard is 8GB of physical RAM as apps can easily eat up half of that. You’ll need the other half to run apps or games at the foreground smoothly.

If you’ve been checking out high-powered models, many of them come with 12 or 16GB of RAM. So, here’s a question for you: what will you do if your phone has 24GB of RAM? That’s what ZTE wants you to answer with nubia Z50S Pro.

According to a report, the company quietly rolled out the ZTE nubia Z50S Pro 24GB/1TB variant. The memory isn’t the only thing that went up as the price hiked at around $645 or ₱36,678.57. The 16GB/1TB version costs $605 or ₱34,403.93.

Nearly all high-performance smartphones of this year have a 24GB RAM version. While that’s great, the idea isn’t really impressive once you take into account the user experience.

Smothering a phone with a huge RAM won’t matter much because software optimization remains the ultimate ingredient. Even high-powered devices will lag or stutter from time to time when running poorly optimized apps and games.

If you’re interested, the ZTE nubia Z50S Pro 24GB/1TB is now up for pre-order on JD.com and it will be live for purchase on October 11.
