Exynos 2400: 10 cores, 3.2 Ghz prime core, powers the Galaxy S24 and S24+ PH variants

Today, Samsung unveiled its highly-anticipated Galaxy S24 series, featuring the standard Galaxy S24 and the larger Galaxy S24+, both powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset in select markets, including Europe. While the chipset had a technical unveiling in October, key details such as processor speeds and core clusters remained undisclosed until now.

The Exynos 2400 CPU boasts an impressive configuration, comprising one ultra-powerful Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.2 GHz, accompanied by two Cortex-A720 units running at 2.9 GHz and three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6 GHz. Additionally, the chipset includes four efficient Cortex-A520 cores, ticking at 2 GHz.

Samsung has officially confirmed that the new Exynos 2400 chipset delivers a substantial 1.7x increase in CPU performance and an impressive 14.7x boost in AI processing when compared to its two-year-old predecessor, the Exynos 2200. The GPU integrated into the Exynos 2400 is the Xclipse 940, built on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture. This upgrade is expected to enhance support for mobile ray tracing, rendering, and reflections.

Manufactured on the advanced 4nm LPP+ process by Samsung Semiconductor, the Exynos 2400 ensures efficiency across all its cores, which are based on the ARMv9 architecture. The chipset also introduces a new Image Signal Processor (ISP) and offers support for LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, further elevating the overall performance and capabilities of the Galaxy S24 series.
