Budget-phone competitor Infinix Mobile just tweeted that they are in the works for an Infinix Note 12 smartphone that will use the very first Helio G99 chipset.
The Infinix Note 12 series was officially launched just last month, May 17, however, the company hasn’t revealed everything. The new Mediatek chipset is an octa-core SoC with 6nm architecture. It’s the best 4G chipset yet, and an energy-efficient one at that.
TSMC designed the chip for gaming, and the new Infinix Note 12 series smartphone might be the next entry-level budget phone with highly-attractive specs in the market. The chip will also support a 120Hz refresh rate, and this is the kind of display gamers will look for in an entry-level budget phone
Supported screen resolution is capped at FHD+ which will make the new Infinix Note 12 series smartphone a definite bang-for-the-buck device. This will place the company (or rather, the smartphone) in the spotlight.
Not only that, but the Helio G99 will also support camera resolution quality of up to 108MP. At that level, this processor is already putting to shame some midrange devices that run on more expensive Qualcomm chipsets.
There’s also an upgrade to storage, as the new Helio G99 will have UFS2.2 transfer protocols, which would mean storage would also be somewhere in the 128GB or 256GB territory.
There’s no news yet on the availability of the new Infinix Note 12 series smartphone and its pricing, but the budget-level smartphone maker is set to announce it “soon.”
