HTC’s Smartphone in Special Launch Event on June 28

Back in the early days of smartphone competition, HTC was the first-ever Android smartphone to compete with Apple’s touchscreen phone. It sold over 1.6 million units and then went on to become one of the most popular smartphone brands in the world.

The situation changed in 2015 when Samsung was leading the market in terms of sold units, but that didn’t mean HTC wasn’t a viable option for touchscreen smartphones. They’ve since been outranked by Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi.

The good news is that the company is launching a special event on June 28 to introduce a phone that is in line with Meta’s vision for the future. The phone set for release was teased in the MWC 2022. The HTC phone is reportedly going to offer an experience of seamless AR and VR integration for headsets.

To make this possible, this would mean HTC’s next phone will have the latest Snapdragon 8 SoCs or the Mediatek 9000. HTC’s smartphone tech was bought by Google in 2017, so this may be the first time Google is indirectly cooperating with Meta since the latter’s rebrand in October 2021.

Until now, it’s only speculation of what the next HTC phone will be. Stay tuned to find out more about the event.
