Nothing Earphones Then, Nothing Phone (1) Now!

Nothing, the OnePlus’ co-founder Car Pei’s other company, released the brand’s first phone on July 12. Is the Nothing 1 can live up to its expectations?

The Nothing company had made something (pun intended) great with its earphones. But it wants more, they’re entering the smartphone market with their debut model, the Nothing 1. It sounds premium and sleek, but what about its specs?

The Nothing Phone (1) sits comfortably at the mid-range level for a reasonable explanation: they decided to focus on the user experience, software and its cool appearance than the hardware. Before we get down to the nitty-gritty, the phone will be available in Europe, India and selected Asian markets (hopefully, the Philippines is on the list). A bold move since it will not be available in USA or Canada.

The display

The Nothing (1) features a 6.55 inch OLED display with a pretty nice 120Hz refresh rate and a full HD+ resolution. Talk about making a solid introduction. Its back panel is the part that we are excited for the longest time, it’s transparent with a Glyph interface, there’s a set of sweet-looking LED lights on the rear panel and you can customize it very quickly, all are covered with the reliable Gorilla Glass protection. Get ready to look like a character from Cyberpunk 2077! Gaming in the dark has never look this awesome since Nokia 1100 and its apple green backlights. Snake Xenxia, anyone?

The processor

The Nothing Phone (1) features a Snapdragon 778G+ processor and a surprising 12GB RAM matched with a native 256GB storage.

The battery

A 4,500mAh battery is equipped inside the phone and is capable of 33W fast charging, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse charging. But the downside is, there’s no charging brick included in the pack so you’ll have to buy the official 45W charging head for around $31 or roughly Php1,700.00.

The OS

It runs on Nothing OS that is based on Android 12.

Camera time

The Nothing Phone (1) has some impressive camera picks here, as it is equipped with two 50MP lenses that’s from Sony (IMX76 CMOS) and Samsung (JN1 ultra-wide-angle lens). On the selfie department, it has a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie cam, this phone is packed to the brim with great specs, let’s look further if The Nothing Phone can hold its streak of greatness.

Some features

It has a dual-band Wi-Fi, a dual speaker, and an under-display fingerprint scanner, impressive!
