Apple is world’s most admired company for 17 years in a row

Apple is number one in social responsibility, financial soundness, innovation, and global competitiveness in Fortune’s list of most admired companies.

Among thousands of companies worldwide, one has maintained a strong lead for more than a decade now.

Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” is topped by Apple for the 17th consecutive year. It’s no small feat as 1,500 companies are included on the list. Following Apple’s lead is Microsoft in second place and Amazon in third place. Nvidia is also on the list and thanks to its recent innovation in AI, landed in tenth place – the company’s highest ranking.

The list has an All-Star consisting of top 50 firms across the globe. Walmart returned to the top 10, now at the ninth spot, after 14 years, while Moderna landed on the 37th spot, making it a first-time All-Star.

Fortune narrowed down the 1,500 candidates to 680, the top earners. Then, 3,700 analysts, directors, and executives were asked to rate each company in different categories, such as quality of management and social responsibility.

Apple has the most points in social responsibility, financial soundness, innovation, and global competitiveness. Although it sustained its number one spot for the 17th time in a row, it only scored 8.19 compared to its previous score of 8.65.

Here’s the top 10:

  1. Apple
  2. Microsoft
  3. Amazon
  4. Berkshire Hathaway
  5. JPMorgan Chase
  6. Costco Wholesale
  7. Alphabet
  8. American Express
