Apple’s next iPhones could be quite different, according to analyst Jeff Pu. Here’s the rundown:
- Goodbye Plus, hello Slim: The iPhone 17 lineup might ditch the “Plus” model for a sleeker “Slim” version with a slightly larger screen (around 6.6 inches) than the standard iPhone 17 (6.1 inches).
- Shrinking notch (maybe): The notch at the top of the screen, called the Dynamic Island, might get smaller on the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max. This could be thanks to a new technology called “metalens.” However, the standard and Slim models might keep the current notch size.
- Fancy new design (kind of): Most iPhone 17s might get a special new aluminum design, but the top model (Pro Max) will likely stick with its premium titanium frame.
- More power (mostly for Pro models): The Pro models might get a bigger performance boost with extra RAM and a brand new A19 Pro chip. The standard and Slim models might still get a bump in power with 8GB of RAM and either an A18 or A19 chip.
- Sharper selfies for everyone: All iPhone 17s could come with a much better front-facing camera, offering clearer pictures and video calls.
Hold off on upgrading? If these rumors are true, the iPhone 17 might be a more significant upgrade than the iPhone 16.
