Chinese manufacturer Blackview unveils the Oscal Modern 8, a budget phone with surprisingly powerful features for the price.
Starting at just under $100(~₱5,564.55), the Modern 8 boasts a long-lasting 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, a smooth 90Hz refresh rate 6.75-inch display, and a capable Unisoc T616 processor (AnTuTu score of 285,000).
The phone features a 50MP rear camera (Samsung ISOCELL JN1) and an 8MP front camera (Samsung ISOCELL 4H7). While the rear camera sensor is from 2021, it still offers a decent 1/2.76-inch size and 0.64 micrometer pixel size.
The Oscal Modern 8 comes with DokeOS 4.0 based on Android 13 and an integrated cooling system for handling demanding tasks. While it doesn’t have 5G or NFC connectivity, it offers the basics and excels in battery life.
