Nothing’s subsidiary brand, CMF, known for its competitively priced audio devices and wearables, is poised to enter the entry-level smartphone market with the upcoming CMF Phone (1). Recent industry reports suggest that this new phone will be positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Nothing Phone (2a).
The CMF Phone (1) is expected to feature a cost-effective yet durable build with a plastic body protected by Gorilla Glass on the front. Color options are rumored to include classic black, white, and orange, catering to a variety of user preferences.
Leaks indicate the CMF Phone (1) will boast a spacious 6.5-inch display, ideal for multimedia consumption. While camera specifications remain undisclosed, the phone is anticipated to include a single rear camera sensor with an LED flash. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity processor, enabling access to 5G connectivity at an attractive price point. Additionally, the phone is rumored to pack a substantial 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, ensuring extensive use throughout the day.
The CMF Phone (1) may ship with a streamlined version of Nothing OS, maintaining software update support for a period of three years, alongside security patches for four years, mirroring the update policy of the Nothing Phone (2a).
Notably, the CMF Phone (1) is expected to carry a competitive price tag of approximately Rs 12,000 (~₱8,241.09). This positions it as a significantly more affordable option compared to the starting price of ₱18,990 for the Nothing Phone (2a).
