Apple is developing a tiny smart remote control for smart home gadgets and Apple products.
Apple has been excellent in integrating its wide range of electronic gadgets, creating a solid ecosystem that beats the fragmented universe of other OS. But the tech giant wants to take this to the next level with a handheld smart device.
Coined “Palm of Your Hand,” it’s a device concept where a user can interact/control other smart devices at home. You basically have a small gadget at the palm of your hand and it connects you to your devices so you can command them. How efficient is it? We still don’t know.
While there’s a long way to go, Apple is already on track with a newly issued patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a special handheld device. No specifics at this time but it seems like an AR/VR accessory with interaction support for other devices, probably via installed apps.
Key features of this device include:
- Cellular connectivity
- Voice control assistant
- Touch-sensitive display
- Integrated microphones
- Speakers
In simple terms, this new Apple device is like a remote control for smart gadgets and dedicated apps. Learn the weather, play music, pay your bills, and more just via this portable device.
But with its capabilities, it’s curious how the company will protect users from threat actors. That single device is key to the very lives of users, and if compromised, their lives may take a turn for the worst.
In case it’s out and available, will you actually wear the Apple Vision Pro and use the Palm of Your Hand device?
