In August 2023, Globe Telecom excitedly announced that they would be launching the Globe Prepaid eSIM by the end of Q3 2023. According to Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business, this move was all about improving customer experience and cutting costs.
By mid-September, they also shared news that the Prepaid eSIM would be accessible through the GlobeOne App by the end of the month. Getting one was set to be a breeze:

- Create a GlobeOne account.
- Request your new eSIM.
Darius Delgado reiterated their commitment to providing a seamless digital mobile experience.
However, when October 1 rolled around, people eager to get their Prepaid eSIM through the Globe One app were left disappointed. YugaTech reported their inability to find the feature, and many readers were also reaching out for answers.
Globe’s response was somewhat unclear but hinted at some kind of “enhancement” being worked on for the eSIM registration via the GlobeOne app. Unfortunately, they couldn’t provide a new release timeline, leaving us to assume that the Prepaid eSIM availability had been postponed indefinitely.
