Google Pixel 7a enters the market with better chipset and more upgrades

With the launch of the first Foldable Google phone, the Google Pixel 7a was also launched, being the cheapest phone on the line up.

Specs

One of the most notable upgrades is the new Google Tensor G2 CPU which is the company’s most cutting-edge chipset. The phone also has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB UFS 3.1 storage, an improvement over the Pixel 6a. Additionally, the phone has a 64-Megapixel camera and a 6.1-inch OLED display that now runs at 90 Hz.

While the refresh rate is not as high other flagship phones with 120Hz , it’s still better than old 60Hz. The phone also has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, a metal frame, and a plastic back. The phone is available in Charcoal, Sea, and Snow colors and the visor is built with 100% recycled aluminum.

One downside is that the phone only supports 18W charging. That is much lower than the charging speeds of some Chinese phones that go up to 240W. However, the phone does support wireless charging, which is a first for the A-series. The Pixel 7a is also fully enabled for the mmWave 5G as well as sub-6GHz networks. However, the mmWave support is limited to some regional variants.

The Google Pixel 7a still brings a range of neat upgrades and improvements. This makes it a good choice for those looking for an affordable and reliable phone . The phone is available in the US and India, with discounts and trade-in offers available for Indian customers.

Pricing

The Google Pixel 7a is priced at $499 (about Php 27,822) , which is slightly higher than the launch price of the Pixel 6a at $449 (about Php 20,000). Even though, it is still more affordable than the regular Pixel 7 priced at $599 (about Php 33,397). Despite sharing many features, choosing between the Pixel 7 and 7a can be difficult for buyers who have flexibility in their budget.
