Honor Pad V8 launched in China alongside Honor 80 GT

The most recent tablet from Honor features a “IMAX Enhanced” display with a cutting-edge 144Hz refresh rate. Despite this, the Dimensity 8100 CPU of the Pad V8 Pro allows it to maintain a mid-range price.

It debuted simultaneously with a new GT version of its 80-series handsets, which had upgraded specifications match a new rear panel.

Specs, Price and Availability

With the newest addition to its Pad line-up, Honor appears to support the notion of the “performance tablet” trend. It has a 12.1-inch, 10-bit, 2.5K+ LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, powered by a huge 10,050mAh battery.

The Pad V8 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of fixed storage as basic features, but it also boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 upper-midrange platform and runs MagicOS 7.0 out of the box, which is based on Android 12.

With its accompanying Magic Pencil 3 and keyboard folio as optional extras, it starts at 2,599 yuan (about Php 20,600) in Clear Sky Blue, Star Gray, or Burning Orange hues (the latter of which is vegan leather rather than glass).

The Honor 80 series, which is expected to see a foldable version in 2022, already has a GT edition. It combines a smaller 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC of its top-tier Pro brother. For this new addition, a regular punch-hole has been chosen rather than the pill cut-out reminiscent of Dynamic Island that characterizes other 80-series variations.
