The Honor Play 40 is a new phone from Honor that has the same processor as the Play 30, but with a different design. It is powered by the Snapdragon 480+ chipset and has 6/128GB, 8/128GB, or 8/256GB of storage. It runs MagicOS 7.1, which is based on Android 13
The display is a 6.56-inch LCD with a 720 x 1,612px resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. There is a 5MP selfie camera in the notch, and the rear camera features a 13MP main module and a 2MP depth sensor.
The battery is 5,200mAh, which is slightly larger than the Play 30’s battery. However, it still only supports 10W charging. The phone has a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Hi-Res Audio certifications.
The biggest upgrade on the Honor Play 40 is the new design. It comes in four colors, and the camera island has a different surface finish than the rest of the phone. There is also a sparkly ring around the “AI camera” label.
The Honor Play 40 is available now in China for CNY 1,380 (~$190/ ~₱10,558.49).
