They managed to dominate African and Asian markets in their first few years, before finally gaining a foothold in the Philippines.

Fast forward to today with the newest addition to the NOTE 30 series, is the NOTE 30 VIP which focuses on lifestyle and being a daily driver, with flagship killer-level specs that you wouldn’t believe are being offered at such an inexpensive price point.

For a previous article on this phone’s unboxing and initial thoughts, please click here. There, we also covered the phone’s design and gave a brief overview of its display.

Performance(Gaming + Battery)

First off, is the performance.

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor, which is a 6nm octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.5GHz. The phone also has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Its AnTuTu score is also quite high, as seen with the graphics below:

The MediaTek Dimensity 8050 is a powerful processor that can handle demanding tasks like gaming and video editing. It is also efficient, which means that the phone will not drain its battery too quickly.

Gaming

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP should be able to play most popular games at their top settings because it has a very powerful chipset, right? So let’s get hop on with our game testing!

As seen in the gameplay video up top, the phone runs Mobile Legends and Call of Duty at maximum settings without any issues, while Genshin Impact exhibits a few minor hitches, which is quite acceptable given the game’s high system requirements, even for flagships. The phone performs remarkably well for its cost.

Game settings:

Battery

A day’s worth of use should be possible with the 5,000mAh battery that powers the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP. If the phone runs out of juice, you may immediately recharge it thanks to the 68W fast charging capabilities. The phone is also capable of up to 50W wireless charging and Infinix included a 15W wireless charger in the box.

There is a feature article on this topic as well, which includes information on the battery drain as well as a charging test. Click here

Be aware that the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP features a bypass mode, which directs charging electricity straight to the motherboard to prevent overheating during gaming, if the battery level hits 30% – an especially helpful feature.

Display

Now unto its main selling point, the display! The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 900 nits. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The display on the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP is one of the best features of the phone. It is bright, clear, and has a smooth refresh rate that makes gaming and scrolling through social media a pleasure. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, which makes it resistant to scratches and shatters.

Camera

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has a triple-lens rear camera system with a 108-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The selfie camera is a 32-megapixel sensor.

The rear camera system is capable of taking good photos in most lighting conditions. The main sensor is able to capture a lot of detail, and the ultrawide sensor is great for taking landscape shots. The macro sensor is not as useful, but it can be fun to experiment with.

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has a very good night mode quality. It uses a combination of software and hardware to improve the brightness and clarity of photos taken in low-light conditions. The results are impressive, with photos that are clear and free of noise.

The selfie camera is also capable of taking good photos. It is able to capture a lot of detail, and the image processing is generally good.

Lastly, the video quality test:

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP has a good video recording quality. It can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 30fps or 1080p resolution at 60fps. The video is of a clear, fluid, pleasing color and contrast. It’s not the best on the market, but it’s good enough for most people, especially in its price point.

User Interface

The user interface of the Infinix NOTE 30 VIP is based on Android 13 and Infinix’s custom XOS 13 skin. It is a fairly clean and easy-to-use interface, with a number of useful features and customization options. Some of the key features of the XOS 13 user interface include:

  • A new design language called “Zero Gravity” that features a more minimalist and fluid look and feel.
  • A new gesture navigation system that makes it easier to navigate the phone without using the physical buttons.
  • A new Smart Panel feature that provides quick access to a variety of tools and settings.
  • A new Game Zone feature that enhances the gaming experience with features such as performance optimization, notification blocking, and a dedicated gaming mode.
  • A new Privacy Protection feature that helps to protect your privacy by providing features such as app permissions management, fingerprint scanner authentication, and a secure folder.

Additionally, there is some bloatware, which makes it quite unpleasant. There are certain bloatwares that can be eliminated, but there are others that cannot. Well, it still works well for the phone’s incredibly superb price to performance ratio.

What we like:

  • Superb specs to price ratio
  • Bypass mode
  • Decent rear camera setup
  • Premium like design
  • Gorgeous 1080p AMOLED display

What we don’t like:

  • Bloatware
  • Advertisements
  • Only a 15W wireless charger is included in the box; not a 50W wireless charger.

Conclusion:

The Infinix NOTE 30 VIP destroyed all of its rivals. The NOTE 30 VIP appears to be a great phone for tech aficionados on a budget since it boasts an exceptional price-specs ratio that is unmatched by any other phone.

Although it isn’t perfect, it is unquestionably one of Infinix’s best offers. The VIP in the phone’s name was well deserved. And it really does feel like a premium flagship like smartphone.
