Infinix ZERO 30 5G Review: A fierce, sexy 4K phone for young content creators

Want to become a TikToker or YouTuber? But you don’t own a computer? The Infinix ZERO 30 5G might be the best choice for you. This portable vlogging handset is just under 15K!

Before, vlogging was exclusive to those who own laptops and desktop PCs, which are usually equipped with excellent cameras. But now, more people have access to this creative venture thanks to mobile devices. Leading the way for aspiring content creators is the Infinix ZERO 30 5G, a 4K Ultra clear front vlog phone under 15K.

Unboxing

The box of Infinix ZERO 30 5G radiates a premium vibe with its illuminating cover. Upon opening, the handset greets you while it’s still covered by a gold-tinted packaging, which illuminates too. But unlike other brands, Infinix packaged ZERO 30 5G with a fast-charging adapter, a USB cable, earphones, and a jelly case. Now, that’s how a premium smartphone should be presented!

First Impressions

The above image is the majestic beauty of the Infinix ZERO 30 5G Golden Hour variant. At the front, the smartphone shows a sleek, sophisticated display screen. Light it up and see the curved AMOLED display with incredibly thin bezels from top to bottom. Even the punch hole is small so it won’t distract users away from the crisp display.

Flip the Infinix ZERO 30 5G and be in awe with the regal backside of the Golden Hour – literally gold in color with an astonishing “hourglass” effect when it’s tilted under any light. If you look at it in landscape, you will see the massive diamond visuals that you cannot help but stare at.

Visuals aside, Infinix ZERO 30 5G feels robust because the grip is incredible. You may assume that the thin body is slippery but once you hold it, the backside has a unique finish that clings to your hand. Within your grasp, both ends of the phone’s sides fit perfectly so you don’t need to clasp on it hard. You can use this phone with one hand comfortably.

Display

Infinix ZERO 30 5G sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. Colors are stunning and browsing is smooth as butter. The display and backside are protected by Corning Gorillas Glass 5 while the body has IP53 certification for splash and dust resistance.

In the Display Settings menu, you will see the usual stuff like Adaptive Brightness, High Brightness, and Eye Care. But there’s one more worth mentioning for first-time users of curve screens – the Edge Mistouch Prevention. It lets you select one of the three options on how you want the phone to intelligently adjust mistouch of the screen edges.

Swiping, scrolling, and navigating on Infinix ZERO 30 5G feel extremely snappy with 144Hz refresh rate and Ultra Touch, where you can choose “fast” for swipe and motion speeds. Move at the speed of light!

Performance

Infinix ZERO 30 5G isn’t just about aesthetics because it has flagship power like no other within its price range. This smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 5G processor for excellent performance and upload speeds.

It is further enhanced by 12GB of RAM, which can be boosted by 9GB via Memfusion for a total of 21GB. Complete tasks and produce content nonstop all day! Plus, all apps run fast and effortlessly with 256GB 3.1 UFS internal storage.

For unlimited daily performance, the Infinix ZERO 30 5G is equipped with an all-day 5000mAh battery and 68w long-lasting Health Super Charge. It can charge to 80% in just 30 minutes!

Camera

Infinix ZERO 30 5G is a 4K Ultra clear vlog smartphone boasting a triple-rear camera setup headed by the 108-MP OIS Ultra clear main sensor. Its camera app has numerous choices for aspiring content creators and photo enthusiasts.

You can choose from AI Cam, Portrait, Super Night, Video, Film, Slow Motion, Time-Lapse, Short Video, Dual Video, AR Shot, Sky Shop, PRO, Panorama, and Document. Thus, Infinix ZERO 30 5G has something for every kind of content.

AI Cam is the default photo mode but you can easily go PRO mode to meet your preferences. Either way, you can access the two other sensors, with the wide-angle lens for 0.6x and the depth lens for 3x.

Both the main shooter and depth sensor can handle the 108-MP mode, which lets you get more details. Letters, ridges, patterns, and more are clearer and crispier in this mode.

Dim lights? Use Super Night and let the phone enhance the brightness without losing details.

Infinix ZERO 30 5G can record up to 4K videos at 60FPS. Users can go beyond with Dual Video mode up to 1080p at 30FPS.

Got a concept or theme? The Film mode offers a plethora of options, such as Beats, Sport, and Party.

Check the gist of these options below.

Film FeaturesDescriptionDuration (in seconds)
BeatsImmerse in dynamic music.15
SportCapture thrilling sport.13
PartyCapture people having a good time together.9
MotionMake amazing films with excellent filters and transitions through one tap.13
PerformanceRecord performances of singing, dancing, etc.18
TravelCapture scenery and enjoyable moments of travels.14
VintageShoot vintage videos.14

StreetCapture moving people and traffic on streets.14
Super StarEnjoy the beats like a superstar.16

Recording with any of these is possible in portrait and landscape modes. While the duration looks too short, the recording is actually divided into several shots. This allows you to feature different scenes in just one short video, enough for reels or shorts on social media apps. The presets also include music and transitions, so the shoots will not look bland and broken.

The default Video mode is for full video recordings of any desired content. It has easy tweaks that any aspiring content creators can tap away in a flash.

They can select 4K at 60FPS for maximum detail and smoothness – excellent for viewers wanting greater video quality. Of course, content creators can choose 4K at 30FPS, 1080p at 60FPS, 1080p at 30FPS, and 720p at 30FPS.

Video stabilization is available via the Ultra Steady mode. If you need to get the video enhanced while recording, turn on the Ultimate Video Enhancement and the app will do the magic for you. At the bottom left of the app, you can select various effects, including Frames, AI make-up, and even Bokeh for extra flare.

Infinix ZERO 30 5G has a 50-MP front-facing camera that can also use the Film mode, 4K at 60FPS, Ultra Steady mode for 1080p at 30FPS, Super Night, and other features.

With avatars now common on social media, the Infinix ZERO 30 5G will let content creators make their own via the AR Shot. You can select the gender present and customize various elements, including skin tone, hair, nose, eyes, and lips. A background filter is also available so only the custom wallpaper and your avatar will take the spotlight.

AR Shot works as well on videos, meaning you can record with a custom avatar and use the voice changer, which has five options: male, female, echo, anime, and monster.

AR Shot brings more when the main camera is used. You can aim it at your friend to give them an avatar. If you tap on the option below the Gallery icon, the AR Scene mode will turn on and bring your custom avatar to life. They will dance to music and show off the outfit you’ve given them.

What We Disliked

Infinix ZERO 30 5G sports dual-stereo speakers with DTS HiRes audio, however, it was disappointing to see that this powerful phone lacks a 3.5-mm earphone jack. So, the free earphone requires USB-C, which you can’t use on many other devices. But if your gadgets are on USB-C, then no problem at all.

Both the rear and front cameras are powerful, capable of 4K at 60FPS. Sadly, even Infinix ZERO 30 5G can’t push its Ultra Steady to 4K 60FPS. But it shouldn’t be a surprise considering it’s only under 15K.

What We Liked

Infinix ZERO 30 5G makes content creation very easy with a suite of editing and feature tools. You can record scenes smoothly and have them ready for upload in less than a minute. One short or reel can be created in just a few minutes. No advanced editing skills required!

The smartphone’s peak performance lets you do multimedia tasks at the comfort of your sofa. The device doesn’t freeze, lag, or even heat up when capturing scenes or editing clips. With a massive battery and fast charging, the device will always have enough juice to do what needs to be done.
