iPhone XR and 11 will get iOS 17 software upgrade!

It is finally that time of the year when things at Apple start to get exciting again. The company just announced the launch of the iOS 17, yesterday during the WWDC 2023. Usually, older devices get skipped on new OS updates but this time around, even the iPhone XR, the best selling iPhone in the Philippines is getting the iOS 17.

Currently, iOS 17 is only available for developers, but fear not, my friends, because the public beta will launch in July. Also, mark your calendars because the stable version will officially hit the scene in October. So, you won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on it.

Key Features

One of the coolest additions is Contact Poster. It lets you jazz up your contacts by adding full-sized photos or even memoji with colorful texts. They have also added Live Voice Mail! You can now see live transcripts of voice messages as they’re being recorded, and even respond to the call while the message is being left. Unfortunately, this feature won’t work for those pesky spam calls.

Compatible devices

The burning question on everyone’s mind is, “Will my iPhone be compatible with iOS 17?” Well, 20 iPhone models are eligible for the iOS 17 update. Even the iPhone Xs from way back in 2018 can handle this upgrade. So, if you’re an Apple registered developer, you can already download and install iOS 17 today. Lucky you!
