Longtime Samsung user quits using Samsung after updating his phone

A Facebook user posted a video showing the green line issue on his Samsung Galaxy S20+ that occured after updating his phone

After updating his Samsung Galaxy S20+, Facebook influencer DJ HartHart shared a video on how the phone now has green lines. He had previously been a long-time Samsung user, but after this incident, he will no longer be. As he stated in his Facebook post, he is quite unhappy with Samsung for continuing to have such troubles even after upgrades.

The green line issue is a hardware problem that affects some Samsung phones. It causes a vertical green line to appear on the phone’s screen, usually on the left or right side. The line can be solid or dotted, and it may be faint or bright. The issue can appear on any Samsung phone with an AMOLED display, but it has been most commonly reported on the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The cause of the green line issue is not fully understood, but it is thought to be a problem with the phone’s OLED display. AMOLED displays are made up of individual pixels that can be turned on or off to create images. The green line issue is thought to be caused by a problem with one or more of these pixels, which causes them to stay on even when they should be turned off.

There is no software fix for the green line issue. The only way to resolve the issue is to replace the phone’s display. Samsung has offered free screen replacements for some models of phones affected by the issue, but this is not always the case. If your phone is not covered by warranty, you will need to pay for the repair yourself which is kind of a bummer.
