Nintendo rumored to have shown off Switch 2 running a rework Zelda game.
Nintendo just concluded its Super Mario Bros. Wonder direct, which presented the upcoming title in the Super Mario franchise. But Nintendo isn’t done as the company gears up the regular Nintendo Direct, a more anticipated event that highlights the new titles.
Yet there’s one thing that fans and players should not expect to see – the much-awaited sequel to Switch. Nintendo Switch 2 is in the rumor mill because the prototype is claimed to be shown off by Nintendo to developers at the recent Gamescom. It was presented running a reworked The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, hinting at the brand-new hardware – finally!
But is the new console powered by Nvidia again? Or did Nintendo find a new partner for its latest pet project? We may get the answer in 2024.
Meanwhile, new rumors suggest that the latest Nintendo Direct is scheduled from September 11 to 15. Though there’s no solid evidence if it’s a mini-show or a grand celebration. Whatever it is, fans worldwide will definitely want to know what Nintendo is brewing for the rest of the year and the first quarter of 2024.
No one is sure what will be showcased in this year’s direct. However, some can guess because there are new Switch games to look forward to. For example, Sonic Superstars was presented in the last Nintendo Direct and as we get closer to its launch on October 17, the company may showcase the likely commercial build.
Fans may expect Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, set for release on October 24. The possible downer here is the rumor of Konami having its own presentation. If that’s true, the game will likely appear on that event.
Nintendo Switch was first launched in 2015 and by today’s standards, its hardware is ancient. It was initially unveiled under the code name “NX” in the same year.
So, what do you think Nintendo Switch 2’s code name will be?
