The vacated month of E3 may become Switch 2’s unveiling stage. Fans may get clues ahead of June from the company’s earnings report this May.
Nintendo Switch has been around for some time and it really needs a successor.
Fans may see the future of that successor this year after a rumor suggested a reveal in June. If you recall, that month is vacated by the annual E3, now permanently discontinued.
If this rumor holds up, there’s something for gamers and fans to look forward to during summer. Perhaps it may even fill in a void for those who regularly attend the debunked event.
The tip seems to fit the state of things. Nintendo will have its next earnings report in May and it’s suggested that this is the moment to unveil future plans, which may include the Switch.
Before June, a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for February 21 followed by Indie World showcase in March. The next-gen Switch may not appear `in both events but we can expect upcoming games for the original model; still good for owners.
How about specs? Nothing’s solid at the moment but Switch 2 is speculated to have:
- Custom Nvidia ARM “DRAKE” T239 CPU
- Nvidia Ampere GPU
- CUDA cores of 1280
- 8” display
- 8GB RAM LPDDR5
- 64GB ROM
Nintendo Switch was launched globally in 2017 and has sold more than 139 million units since. Its rumored successor may launch in 2025.
