Nubia Z60 might feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and under-screen camera

Reports are now emerging that the company is in the process of developing its next smartphone, potentially under the name Nubia Z60 or part of the Red Magic 9 series.

Reference: Nubia Z50

This upcoming device is rumored to include Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and an enhanced under-screen front-facing camera. The leak originates from the reputable tipster Digital Chat Station, although the precise name of the device remains undisclosed.

The likelihood of it being named the Nubia Z60 is higher, considering that Nubia unveiled the Nubia Z50 in December 2022. This timeline aligns with the potential release window for the Z60.

Notably, a Nubia phone with the model number NX769J recently appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It demonstrated impressive performance with a single-core score of 1596 points and a multi-core score of 5977 points. This device is rumored to be the Red Magic 9 gaming smartphone.

Furthermore, two Nubia phones with model numbers NX721J and NX769J recently secured Wi-Fi Alliance certification, confirming their compatibility with Android 13 and support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.

The NX721J model may potentially be the much-anticipated Nubia Z60 flagship phone. In a prior leak, the same tipster hinted at Nubia’s development of a smartphone featuring a 35mm camera and a 1-inch sensor.
