The highly anticipated nubia Z60 Ultra is set to launch this Tuesday, and the brand has chosen to unveil its latest flagship through a series of teasers on its Weibo account. The smartphone will be available in Black, Cream, and Starry Night colors, boasting an IP68 rating, a cutting-edge under-display camera, and a triple-camera setup on the rear.
While official details about the charging and battery specifications are still pending, the device, identified by the model number NX721J, was spotted on 3C with 80W wired charging – consistent with the capabilities of the Z50 Ultra.
nubia, a subsidiary of ZTE, has taken extra steps to showcase the IP68 capabilities of the Z60 Ultra. In a unique demonstration, a free diver submerged the phone underwater, capturing images effortlessly. The IP68 rating signifies that the phone can withstand submersion up to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes without any adverse effects.
The rear camera setup comprises a 50 MP main shooter with a 35 mm lens, an 18 mm ultra-wide camera equipped with a 50 MP sensor, and a periscope telephoto shooter with OIS. On the front, the camera is ingeniously placed under the screen, featuring pixels with a mere 2.8um size, a technology referred to as UDC Ultra by nubia.
The Starry Night design, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting, showcases a 3D multiple-layer finish similar to the one seen on the Z50 Ultra.
The phone is a testament to how much nubia is putting into making its flagship stand out in the flagship market. However, the main question is whether this phone will go global or the nubia Z60 Ultra will remain exclusive to ZTE’s home country of China.
