OPPO is expanding its popular A series of mid-range smartphones with the upcoming A60. While the naming suggests it might succeed the 5G-enabled A59 launched in December 2023, it appears the A60 will cater to the 4G market, likely positioning itself as the successor to the A58 4G released in July 2023.
Leaked Specifications Reveal a Capable Mid-Ranger
Thanks to a recent Google Play Console listing, some key specifications of the A60 have come to light. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, a reliable processor for everyday tasks but lacking 5G capabilities. This chipset will be paired with a generous 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance for multitasking and gaming.
While the screen resolution takes a slight step down from the A58 4G, offering a 720×1604 display, the A60 keeps pace with the latest software by running Android 14 with Oppo’s ColorOS 14 on top.
Endurance and Imaging
A TUV Rheinland certification leak confirms the A60 will pack a long-lasting 5,000 mAh battery, further complemented by 45W fast wired charging for quick power top-ups. Camera details gleaned from a Camera FV 5 listing suggest a main rear camera with a 50MP sensor and f/1.9 aperture, alongside an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
More to Come
While these leaks provide a solid glimpse into the OPPO A60’s capabilities, further details regarding pricing, availability, and the full camera setup remain under wraps. We expect OPPO to officially unveil the A60 in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more information.
