Celebrate Oktoberfest with Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on October 4!
If Apple is launching the next iPhone in September, Google answered with the next Pixel launch in October. Mark your calendar as October 4 is the launch event for both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, conquering the stage in New York City at 10am local time.
It is assumed that Google will present new additions in this special event, which may just be a clue about the arrival of Pixel Watch 2. So, you really need to watch out for this event if you desire this device.
But when it comes to the Pixel Pro 8 specs, a leak showed that the smartphone features a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, Tensor G3 chipset, 12GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, a three-module rear camera system, and a 4,950mAh battery with 27w wired charging support. The device also comes with a rear-mounted temperature sensor and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Tensor 3 is Google’s nona-core semi-custom chipset (9 cores) and seems to swag powerful performance, such as higher clock to boost peak performance, lower power consumption, and 15% faster deca-core Mali-715 GPU. While it may not be enough to beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in a one-on-one, Tensor 3 may be even better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Mobile camera users may also appreciate Pixel 8 Pro’s triple rear camera setup composed of 50MP main with OIS, 64MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto.
For Android users, Pixel 8 series’ main point could be the debut of the much-awaiting Android 14. Android 14 is packed with new stuff, including notification flashes and even bigger fonts. Let’s hope it will allow smartphones to be used as webcams over its software cycle.
