Want to get the best out of your PS5 Pro? You’ll need to find games with the “Enhanced” label, just like the PS4 Pro experience.
The PlayStation 5 Pro is highly anticipated for its better hardware, expected to handle upcoming games. However, tapping into its full potential has conditions, according to leaks.
First off, PS5 Pro will follow the same tradition as PS4 Pro where only games labeled “enhanced” can unlock the ultimate gaming experience. In the context of the upcoming pro console, that label means upscaled resolution and frame rate.
So, what are the requirements for this label on the PS5 Pro?
- Higher target resolution for games that run a fixed resolution on the standard console
- Higher target max resolution for games that run at variable resolution on the standard console
- Higher target frame rate for games that target a fixed frame rate on the standard console
- Incorporation of the PS5 Pro ray tracing effects
If these are met, a game will get the label and allow gamers to enjoy upscaled resolution to 4K at stable 60 FPS with ray tracing effects. These improvements are thanks to an exclusive graphics mode on the PS5 Pro.
But what about the specs of PS5 Pro? Leaks suggest that the console will have a 28% faster memory and 45% faster GPU than the standard console. Together, these upgrades can lead to two times faster rendering speed than the standard console.
Here are the other speculated specs of PS5 Pro:
- Identical CPU to the PS5 standard but clocked at 3.85GHz (10% vs. standard)
- Memory bandwidth of 576 GB per second (28% vs. standard)
- ACV with higher clock speed (35% vs. standard)
- GPU rendering of 45% versus standard
- 2-3x ray tracing or x4 in select cases
PS5 Pro is expected to launch this fall and will have a detachable disc and 1TB of internal space.
