realme recently held a press conference in China to announce the periscope zoom camera used by the upcoming realme GT 5 Pro. At the end of the event, the brand also revealed that a similar camera will be offered on its next-gen number series smartphone as well.
Now, a reliable leaker has disclosed the chipset powering this number series model. According to Digital Chat Station, the realme 12 series will be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. He also adds that the lineup will popularize the 64MP OmniVision OV64B 3x periscope telephoto camera, which the brand had already officially confirmed.
The said SoC and camera are expected to be featured on the forthcoming realme 12 Pro Plus. On the other hand, the same tipster had earlier revealed that the realme 12 Pro will be equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX709 2x telephoto shooter.
The realme number series is known for going head-to-head with the Redmi Note lineup. Going by the camera specs, the Realme 12 series will have a huge advantage in the zoom department over the Redmi Note 13 family, which does not offer a dedicated zoom camera.
We are looking forward to learning more about these smartphones in the coming days, as they are likely to be released just weeks after the debut of the realme GT 5 Pro.
